Thanh Vi is one of those inexpensive, authentic restaurants that serves great food if you know what to order. The only drawback is you have to drive all the way to Seattle's International District to experience it. If you like Vietanmese food, it's worth the trip.
The Shrimp an Pork Spring Rolls were very good as an appetizer, and I loved their dipping sauce. It's my favorite of any Vietnamese restaurant I've been to. As entrees, we had some Barbeque Spare Ribs and a Sweet & Sour Seafood Soup. The ribs were well marinated and had very good flavor, although they were a bit overdone. The seafood soup was exceptional! It has a very distinctive tangy flavor, and I couldn't help myself going back for helping after helping. It's very good.
The only downside was the service. We were seated in a corner where it was hard to get the waitress's attention, and she seemed overburdened with too many tables. But aside from that, the food was great and reasonably priced. I will definitely be back.
Bottom Line: Great Vietnamese food, and worth the drive to Seattle.
