Located near downtown Kirkland, Mama Lucia's is tucked away in the Park Place plaza. You would never guess a pretty good Italian restaurant was here unless someone told you about it. They managed to decorate very well for a small strip mall space, creating a cozy intimate atmosphere to enjoy their hearty food. The quality and sophistication is not as good as some other fancy Italian Restaurants, like Il Bacio, but the prices aren't as high either. It has more the feel of an intimate family restaurant, with basic but authentic food. All of our dishes were much better than any Italian chain (like Olive Garden), with the Linguini Quattro Fromaggio (four cheese) being especially good. Our chianti recommendation was also good, and relatively inexpensive. Also noteworthy is their lunch menu, which is very inexpensive and served quickly.
