Located on the north end of Lake Washington, the Grillhouse and Taproom is right off the Burke Gillman trail, and an excellent spot to stop for food when biking around the lake. It also has outside seating near the water, making it a great summer spot too. Besides lots of beer and regular pub food, the Grillhouse has a surprisingly sophisticated menu.

The biggest pleasant surprise was our appetizer, the calamari. It came in big, thick strips and was tender - not overdone. Some of the best fried calamari I've had in a long time. Our entrees were good too, but more standard fare. The applewood Ribs looked great on the menu, but only ended up being average. Same with the Bourbon Dip, and Prawn Pasta - good, but not surprisingly good. The best entree was the special, a "Prawn Zepeda", which was creamy and delicious.

Service was good, and we got to sit outside and enjoy a nice summer day on the lake. That alone might draw you to the Grillhouse and Taproom, along with their fine beer selection. Although it's a little bit far from Redmond, you might find yourself here if you ride your bike up north on the Sammamish River Park Trail. It's a great summer place, so stop in!

Bottom Line: Good beer selection and food, great for summer.
