Let's face it, if you want "normal" pizza, this isn't the place for you. But if you're a culinary adventurer and enjoy the novelty of interesting cuisine, give California Pizza Kitchen a try. The pizzas here are all personal size, but they're large enough for someone with a hearty appetite. They specialize in novel flavor combinations, like Barbeque Chicken pizza, Jamaican Jerk Chicken pizza, Carmelized Pear and Gorgonzola, etc. They also have salads, sandwiches, soups, and more conventional pizzas. But if you want good regular pizza, you should be at Pagliacci's instead.

We tried the Peking Duck pizza and a Tortilla Soup. I wasn't sure what to expect with the pizza, and it was definitely unique, with mushrooms, green onions, fried wontons, and hoisin sauce as main flavoring. I liked it, but with such a wide array of pizzas to choose from, I'll try several others before coming back to it again.

At around ten dollars a pizza, it's a little pricy for a lunch outing, but makes a great casual dinner getaway. If you want something a little out of the ordinary, check this place out.

Bottom Line: Good unique pizzas.
